Mites

Mite Pest Control Products

The most common mite our pest control division has to deal with it not dust mites as you may imagine, but bird mites. Bird mites are tiny, but they are not microscopic. They can just about be seen with the human eye. They are voracious biting insects that normally feed on the blood of chicks in nests, but they also commonly come into properties and start feeding on human blood. They can drive you mad, and be very difficult to get rid of. Nesting birds are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act, although our pest and bird control divisions are sometimes able to take action against nesting pigeons on public health grounds. The mites can be treated from the inside using sprays and dusts directed at where they are coming from, but the long-term solution is to combine this with removal of the nest or nests and a thorough treatment of the nesting area with biocide and insecticide, plus proofing to try and prevent a re-occurrence next year.
