Flies can be an indicator of other pest control issues and can be a problem on their own. So called ‘blow flies’ like bluebottles, greenbottles and house flies lay their eggs on carrion and can be a sign of a dead carcass in the property, and possibly and indicator of a rodent or bird issue. Other flies like drain flies lay their eggs on organic matter and can indicate a problem with the drains. Cluster flies cause seasonal issues. They survive the winter in numbers by clustering in warmer house aspects such as lofts and south facing window frames. They lay their eggs in the soil around a property and can take a few seasons to bring under control.
